There are certain things, good or bad, that you are expecting. The famous death and taxes, the bad Christmas gifts or the overpriced drinks at the holiday resorts are wonderful examples. And these things don’t really make you lose any sleep, whereas something that catches you by surprise is bound to keep you awake at night. It’s one of those deeply rooted psychological issues, that the unknown is often a lot more scary than a pretty scary thing you know.
A good example of something that catches you off guard is an accident at work. We tend to consider the workplace as a second home, since it’s somewhere where we spend a lot of time and know it like the back of our hands. It’s also somewhere where we feel that we are somewhat taken care of, as there are authority figures above us, and, hopefully, a sound workplace insurance to cover anything that destiny may throw at us.
People are often caught with their guards low on holiday as well. It’s the time where nothing is supposed to go wrong, so it feels the worst when something does go wrong. Again, a good insurance, in this case travel insurance, will go a long way in helping with anything that may happen.
